Host families required for French students

Galway East Tourism, in conjunction with Corrib Country Holidays Ltd, is looking for host families to welcome French students on school tours to Athenry.

Corrib Country Holidays Ltd has been bringing French students on school trips to the Tuam area for a number of years now, and is looking to establish a second base in Athenry.

Hosting French students is an ideal opportunity to for you and your family to experience French culture and language. It is also a way of earning extra income - payment is based on the number of students and the length of their stay.

The students are French boys and girls aged from 13 to 17. They usually arrive between February and June for programmes lasting between 2 and 6 days. Host families will be normally be asked to accommodate 2 to 4 students each. Students are accommodated on a full board basis – breakfast, packed lunch and an evening meal. The students go on a day tour every day at about 8.30am and return at 6.30pm, so it is easy to accommodate them even if you are working outside the home.

Host families can be couples, singles or families – the most important thing is that you are warm and welcoming, and proud of your locality and country!
