The 2006 Athenry Rose

Claire Sheridan The Galway Rose Selection night was held at Hayden’s Hotel , Ballinasloe last night, the 5th of May, and Claire Sheridan was Athenry’s own representative .Her stunning pink, beaded ball-gown was provided by Maureen Tobin of Moserina Bridal, Claregalway and her hair was styled by Leona in Bellisimo.
She was one of the last to take the stage last night and, despite all the nerves, performed an excellent rendition of The Chieftains “I know my love”. Clearly a favourite of the night, her performance stood out as both lively and professional. Her interview was also memorable with lots of laughs and giggles for the audience. The event was hosted by Oliver Turner and the whole night went off a treat.
Claire would like to wish Aoife Finnegan, the winner of the Galway Rose, all the best in the Regional Heats this summer.
She would also like to thank all of the people who supported her in both the run- up to the event and the support on the night itself, especially Fr. Tony King, St Marys Parish, Athenry and her sponsor Maureen O’Halloran of Fashion Club, Athlone.
