Athenry Musical Society is celebrating a well-deserved win at the annual AIMS (Association of Amateur Musical Societies) Awards.

She won the award for her highly entertaining portrayal of Lady Jacqueline during Athenry Musical Society’s sell-out production of “Me and My Girl” earlier this year.

Caithriona’s win comes as no surprise to those involved in musicals, as she has proven herself as one of Athenry Musical Society’s most talented and versatile performers over the last number of years.

Cathriona has graced the stage in many other Athenry Musical Society productions – as Nellie in last year’s production of “South Pacific”, Ado Annie in “Oklahoma!”, the title role (made famous by Marilyn Monroe) in “Sugar”, and the disapproving Mrs. Pearce in “My Fair Lady”. In between, she worked with Peter Kennedy and Encore Musical Society in Peter’s own work, Clown, produced in Galway.

Caitriona was travelled to Killarney with other members of Athenry Musical Society, who had performed with Caithriona in “Me and My Girl”. They included Marilyn Bane from “You’re a Star” fame, Neil Molloy, Aidan Archer, Fr. Ciaran Blake, Padraig Mulcahy and Thomas Rohan.
